Ft. Myers
Heading West out of Lake Okeechobee Outpost in Lee County along Southwest Florida's Gulf coast, Fort Myers is known as the "City of Palms" for its palm-lined streets. The major attractions are the homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, which are separated by a fence called "The Friendship Gate." The annual Edison Festival of Light Pageant celebrates the inventor's contributions to the city. For beach-goers, Fort Myers' beaches have a laid-back feel and act as a gateway to several islands, including Sanibel and Captiva.

Naples
Golfers, shoppers, nature lovers, and even the rich and famous know the innate beauty of Naples. Arts and culture venues abound, as do relaxing white-sand beaches and of course, the sparkling Gulf waters. Off the coast, romantic islands beckon. Naples, as well as Ft. Myers and surrounding West coast venues, offer world class inshore fishing for tarpon, redfish, sea trout and flounder. Offshore fishing provides a host of great table fare including grouper, red snapper and dolphin.

Miami
Miami is one of Florida's original vacation hot spots and enjoys a historic relationship with Lake Okeechobee via the Mayaimi Indians. The namesake tribe were mound builders inhabiting Lake Okeechobee in the 1500’s.

Today, Miami is famous for its history, culture, and of course, nightlife and beaches. This metropolitan area is influenced by Latin-American cultures, evidenced in the diversity of restaurants, arts, and festivals. Art and architecture buffs will revel in South Beach's Art Deco district, which houses over 800 Art-Deco style buildings.

Ft. Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale boasts a variety of cultural, historical, and social activities. In the downtown area along the New River, points of interest include the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Discovery and Science, the Museum of Arts, and the intricate canal system giving rise to Ft. Lauderdale’s nickname: The Venice of the Americas. A water taxi tour along the inland canals will give you easy and inexpensive access to major points throughout the city, as well as allow you a glimpse of the rich and famous along what's known as "Millionaire's Row."

West Palm Beach
As close as a thirty minute drive to the East, West Palm Beach thrives with theaters, a world-class art museum, galleries, ballet, opera, shops, street fairs, world renowned shopping, restaurants and arguably the best saltwater fishing in North America. The staff at Lake Okeechobee Outpost will help coordinate a day trip to Worth Avenue, a night on the town to see a Broadway show at the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts or a day of fishing for billfish along “Sailfish Alley.”

If you have come to Lake Okeechobee Outpost by boat, Loggerhead Club & Marina™ offers four (4) additional marina locations to visit or use your reciprocal dockage: Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, Lantana or South Lantana.

Vero Beach
Midway down Florida's East coast, Vero Beach is a well-rounded destination. Active pursuits include paddling the Indian River Lagoon and cheering the Los Angeles Dodgers during spring training. History hounds will enjoy museums dedicated to the area's past (located inside a circa-1903 train station) and its citrus heritage. The Vero Beach Museum of Art and McKee Botanical Garden suit the aesthetically inclined. A round of golf is also an option along the Intracoastal waterway.

Melbourne
Surf's up in Melbourne, situated on Florida's Space Coast on the Indian River Lagoon. Hit a beach or surf shop en route to the shore; fishing, paddling and airboating are also popular action activities.

Titusville
Space out in Titusville, where you can lunch with an astronaut, defy gravity and embark on a mission to Mars -- all in the same day. When you come back down to Earth, take a nature cruise to spot dolphins and manatees, horseback ride on the beach, fish for redfish or sample rock shrimp at an Old Florida-style restaurant.
